Pakistani intelligence officials and militants reported on March 8th that gunmen killed a Pakistani Taliban commander in the country's North Waziristan tribal area. A local Taliban member says Maulvi Noor Mohammad was ambushed on the evening of March 6th near the main town of Miran Shah by relatives of a man he recently tortured and killed. The intelligence officials say Mohammad led a group of about 400 men who focused on staging cross-border attacks against U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan in coordination with other commanders in the area.
