March 9, 2010. Indian government issues terror alert for Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, and New Delhi

Following the interrogation of suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) suspect Salman Ahmed, the government on March 8th issued terror alert warnings for Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bangalore, reports indicated. The suspect reportedly admitted that IM had set up bases in Pakistan's Karachi, Nepal's Kathmandu, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates' Dubai, and other parts of the Middle East as part of an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) program to train Indian operatives for attacks in India. The so-called Karachi Project IM cell reportedly sought to carry out attacks in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, particularly to target foreign nationals.
